TWO TRACKS, ONE PROGRAMME

Three universities. Four semesters. One shared journey.

CYBER’s mobility pathway takes students across Lisbon, Barcelona and Paris, with each location contributing a different part of the learning experience.

Everyone starts and finishes together. In between, the HBB and EEB tracks visit Barcelona and Paris in opposite order — so by the end, every student has studied in all three cities.

  • HBB track
  • EEB track
  • All students together

⇅ After Semester 2, the tracks swap cities.

SEMESTER BY SEMESTER

What happens at each stage

  1. Semester 1 — Lisbon

    All students → Universidade Lusófona

All students begin together in Lisbon, establishing the foundations of the CYBER programme and forming their CYBER-T.

  2. Semester 2 — Barcelona or Paris

    HBB → BarcelonaEEB → Paris

Students continue their academic pathway in their respective track university.

At the end of the semester, each CYBER-T completes a two-month internship with an Associated Partner (May–June). In July, all students meet at an international conference, where teams present a poster and an international jury assesses their dissertation or project plan.

  3. Semester 3 — Paris or Barcelona

    HBB → ParisEEB → Barcelona

Students move to the complementary university, expanding their knowledge across the behavioural and technological dimensions of CYBER.

All students also take the Thematic Seminars (12 ECTS, Universidade Lusófona), with invited experts on topics such as:

Trustworthy GenAILLM safetyResilient Tele-Intervention DesignSustainable XR Practices
  4. Semester 4 — Internship & Dissertation/Project

    All students → Internship placement

Students return to the same internship placement and CYBER-T for their final semester, in Europe or beyond. You also take classes that support your dissertation or project at a consortium university, online if your internship is outside the consortium countries.

The experience developed during the internship provides the practical context for the student’s dissertation or project, connecting academic work with real-world challenges.

The programme ends with a public oral presentation at an international conference, assessed by an external jury.
